Q: What do I have to submit to be entered into the competition?

- A: 2) All appropriate releases and forms
- A: 3) Completed application to Regent University (graduate or undergraduate)
- A: 4) Hard copy of your film, DVD or tape
Q: What does redemptive mean?
A: A redemptive film can portray a carefully crafted protagonist facing a moral dilemma that leads to good or bad consequences affecting them and those around them. The protagonist might make a difficult, but ultimately good decision, or the story may be a cautionary tale. Redemptive themed Documentaries are also accepted.
Q: Can I submit a film I made in the past?
A: Yes. As long as it meets the entry requirements.
Q: What is the best format to submit my film?
A: DVCAM or DVD
Q: Is there an entry fee?
A: No. Entrance is free!
Q: Is there a limit on how much I can spend on my film?
A: No. There is no minimum or maximum amount one can spend. But remember, you can make a great film on a very low budget.
Q: Do I retain the sole rights to my film?
A: No. By submitting you give Regent University the right to use your film.
Q: If I am a finalist, how much advance notice do I get to make travel arrangements?
A: Finalists will be announced on March 22, 2010. All travel expenses and arrangements for each finalist will be handled by Regent University’s School of Communication & the Arts.
Q: Can my film be longer than 5 minutes?
A: No. The film, including end credits, must be under 5 minutes total runtime.
Q: Can I submit a film to Reel Dreams that I have already submitted to another competition?
A: Yes. If you have the legal rights and you are the writer, director, and producer of the film you may submit it.
Q: Is this program open to international participants?
A: This competition is open to all U.S. Citizens and U.S. Permanent residents residing in the United States of America.
Q: Is there a minimum age?
A: You must be 18 years old by the time the 2010 Fall semester starts.
Q: Am I required to apply to Regent University to participate in the competition?
A: Yes, application is the third step in the submission process. All participants must apply prior to the submission deadline, March 9, 2010, and must meet all eligibility requirements for admissions and financial aid.
